A day of 13 hours wait

Had been pretty occupied the last few days!

Accompanied Ms Sim to work for 13 hours yesterday.
Now, I'm suffering from aches. ;-(

Besides the walking around, we ate almost non-stop during the time when she's free....

Our teabreak at Hans.

Strudels Indulge

 Hey peeps!

Will be busy for this 2 days, so here's some pics of the yummy strudels which I had after my dinner on wed after I went down to SMA for my p/t studies.

Strawberry Strudel.
My favourite!

Mango Mini Strudel.
The portion and price is worth it!

Top with a cuppa coffee, I feel like I'm a lucky girl.
;-)

I'll be back tomorrow!

An Evening Out At Dempsey Hill

Spent most of my sunday relaxing at home & blogging.

Hence, it was such a good idea to go out for dinner, dessert & movie.

Jumbo @dempsey.

We had a hard time deciding what to eat.

A Fellow Piscean's 27th

After the brunch at Amici & some strolling at Bottle Tree Park, rushed to Cal's house for Kat's birthday celebration (in advance too!)

They had buffet at home & friends over for a casual gathering/food session.

Cal trying to open the HUGE box of cake.
She promised that it would surprise us.

I was thinking sure something to do with Pisces.
Cal actually set up a "Änti-Pisces Club"on Facebook quite a long time back.

OMG!

Before the box could be taken away, those with cameras were already trying to sneak a shot!

Few of them trying to lift the box off.

A Mermaid cake!

And soooo sexy!!
Haha... the photo of Kat licking the cream off shall not be published here.

My fellow Piscean, Kat, with her beautiful mermaid.

Making her wish.
Saw her mum on the left? wishing on her behalf too.
Awww.... she's so sweet.

After all the photo-taking, Cal excitedly pulled the mermaid off from her tail.
*Not for kids' view* ;-D

The sicko Cal laughing to herself & muttering: "Bye Pisceans!" (FYI, I put her words in a nicer way)
(She's gonna get into trouble with all the pisceans around her)
Whatever's left of the cake after the mermaid got her 2 legs & was enjoying a shower given by Kat's mum.

Didn't have the chance to take photos with the rest & most importantly the birthday girl!
She was so busy being a good host!

The only person I managed to have photos taken with was Elaine.

And me trying to suck in my cheeks so I don't look too fat beside her.

Dad's Advance Birthday Brunch at Amici Italian Restaurant

Sunday morning.
We all piled into uncle's 8-seater to head down to Holland Village for our brunch
cum Dad's advance birthday treat.

Can see that I was still very tired?
Slept 4 hours and had a long day ahead.

Please don't mind my fat grin as it was hard to capture this, trying to turn my back as best as I could whie the car's moving.

Amici Italian Restaurant at crowded Holland Village.
This is actually the backdoor?
I suppose so cos the other entrance is neater and more spacious.

I sat right in front of this.
And tried to be very careful in case I broke all the bottles.

We had a complimentary bottle of white wine!
Cheers!

The family.

If I'm not wrong, we had a good deal here.
4 main courses entitled us to 2 free main courses.

Calamari!
We weren't really very hungry, hence we didn't order too much.

Crabmeat Aglio Olio. (not the actual name)
The crabmeat were fresh & delicious!
Baby tomatoes to kick off that seafood taste!

Crayfish Linguine.
Sis was loving it!

Lamb shank was "öut of stock". So Dad's were replaced with Lamb Loin. (not found on the menu)
It isn't that bad considering that I am not a mutton lover.

Smoked Salmon & Caviar Linguine.
Mum & Uncle had the same one as me.
Fine for me. The cream sauce was very filling.

Ordered this Ham & Mushroom Tortellini for grandma.
It looked so appetising! So was the taste.

This tiramisu slice was on the house.
For birthday special!

Dad was a lil stunned when the waitress brought the cake from behind him & telling him "Happy Birthday".

After this meal, he was saying he was craving for ba-chor mee. ;-|
Yeah, Dad loves chinese food still.

Lenas @ Bugis

I've been more willing to head out to town areas on saturdays & sundays after I became 'free'.

To be frank, I am a more "bugis" than "örchard" person.
I have no idea how to describe this!

Anyway, we visited the Lenas branch at Bugis Junction.
My 2nd lunch & tea-break at the same time.

Some iced mint tea that she ordered.
It's a super big cup!

Is this some rosemary chicken with mushroom sauce or what?
I totally can't remember the dishes' names.
Side: Mash Potato.
Yum.

Ham & Mushroom pizza.
Ain't my favourite, but I had half of it.
Cheesy cheese!

Oh, I was looking at a passerby who looked at me thinking that I was looking at her. I didn't want her to think I was looking at her....
So, to distract her, I stared intensively at the the mad long queue of KOI opposite at Illuma until she turned to look too.
Good. Mission accomplished.

Tiramisu with strawberries.
Average. I think the tiramisu I make is much nicer & to my taste.

The dessert and the drink came as a "package" that cost only $6++.
The total meal is less than $40. Which I think is quite ok for 2 person.
And I definitely will come here instead of TCC.

Obolo Cafe

Tuesday Monday. No work stress monday blues!! ;-)
Ms Sim got a surprise last min off.
With time on hand, the 1st thing is to eat of cos!

We headed down to Joo Chiat, a place with many many many nice food.
*drooling while thinking*

NOTE: Time is 6.15pm.

Ms Sim: "Time to pay government again."

Got down the car and we saw something like this below:
U got it?
And Ms Sim's heart was aching cos she wasted 2 coupons.
hahahaha!!

Our lunch/dinner was a plate of tasty fried prawn mee sua each.

And introducing our dessert place............

OBOLO!

Ms Sim paid $10 for an e-coupon worth $20.

A small, cosy shop located at 452 Joo Chiat Road.
Go to http://obolo.com.sg/ for more info.

We were the only patrons at that time. So lucky!
It's a relaxing place.

This was what they had at that moment.
Did they sell alot or they didn't make alot?

We picked D.Y.O.P.

Facing the outside of the shop.

Ms Sim with her Ice Cafe Mocha.

Here's our D.Y.O.P!
Consists of: Chocolate Moose Cake + Expresso Ice-cream + Macarons
(Pistachio buttercream & Rose buttercream)

Fancy one?
Sweet and crunchy.

The desserts are yummy!
I love the expresso ice cream the most!!

Let me know what you think if you try/tried too! ;-)

19 February 2011

This person always amuses me with her dramatic expressions.

So here I am sharing her glam photo here!

Anyone knows what's this???
It was in our dessert.
Extremely crunchy but I just have no idea what it is.

CNY 2011 (Part 2: The Food Consumption)

Always my favourite part: EATING!
And perhaps because there's nothing much to do, I tend to eat alot, non-stop.

The curry with a tinge of Indian & Thai fusion.

Sis personally cut up the abalone.

Braised duck garnished with parsley.

Prawns sauteed in rice wine.

Sea Cucumber + veg in oyster sauce.

You have no idea how much I ate.
There were another 2 plates of linguine that weren't featured here.

CNY goodies. Not my preference. Ain't a snacky-type of person unless I'm darn bored.

Dessert Wine: Moscato

It's weird how I stuff my mouth with food no matter how full I already was.
;-S
